The Tau Commander in all his tabletop glory |
First up is the Tau Commander DLC pack, which adds aforementioned character to the "Last Stand" multiplayer mode.
This Japanese anime mechwarrior looking little fella comes complete with all newly designed and unique wargear, which will allow you to customize your bipedal robot friend to your specific liking.
And here in all his digital glory! |
The other two pieces of DLC are custom packs for Chaos Space Marines and Imperial Guard.
The Chaos Space Marines gets a Word Bearers pack, which lets you lead the legion of Lorgar, one of the primary instigators for the Horus Heresy, into battle.
Bring out the gimps! |
Notable changes include the chaos lord sporting a ruddy big skull on top of his Terminator armor and making heretics look like they're on their way to a SM convention (not Space Marine, the *other* kind of SM).
Speaking of people that look like they're going to a SM convention, the other piece of DLC features the gas mask wearing Krieg Death Korps.
Actually, this is probably one of my favorite armies of Warhammer 40k.
The outfits of the Krieg harkens back to WW1 and together with their gas masks it makes for a very cool visual style that lends itself excellent to the gloomy and depressing mood of the Warhammer 40k universe.
The two skin packs cost 6 euro each, while the Tau Commander is 7 euro.
All DLC packs are available on Steam right now.
Personally I think the price is a little steep, if you consider that Retribution itself is only 20 euro.
But since I'm such a sucker for the Death Korps I'll probably end up getting that pack at least and maybe giving the other two a pass.
